DDSB announces agreement with OSSTF Permanent Teachers

Durham District School Board announced today that is has a reached a new agreement with the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) Permanent Teachers bargaining unit. The DDSB Board of Trustees and the bargaining unit have ratified the agreement. 

“This agreement reflects our mutual commitment to providing high-quality education to our students,” said Christine Thatcher, Chair of the DDSB Board of Trustees. “The dedication demonstrated by our secondary school educators is commendable. We look forward to continuing to work together to support student success and foster a positive learning environment.” 

Building upon this achievement, both parties are committed to continuing to drive positive outcomes for both educators and students alike. 

“The OSSTF Teachers Bargaining Unit is pleased to have ratified a new collective agreement with the DDSB,” said Shane Stagg, President, District 13 OSSTF. “Collective bargaining provides an important opportunity for the union and the employer to discuss matters of concern, find common interests, and identify middle ground on their differences. We are happy to have found a willing bargaining partner with the DDSB and to have arrived at a collective agreement that supports public education in Durham.”
